Stock Blanks

ONE PIECE BLANKS – Dry (all between 4 and 20 years in the shop). Most are 1/4 sawn or close and have good grain flow. All European walnut.

10 – $500 – Textbook layout and grain flow. Will show feather crotch both sides of buttstock.

 

 

4 – $500 – (34 x 2-3/8) – Moroccan, dark, heavy, dense wood.
5 – $300 – (33 x 2-1/8)

7 – SOLD – $250 (30 x 2-1/4) – Profiled for inletting, slab sawn.
8 – $350 (43 x 2-1/4) – Mannlicher length, excellent grain flow.

 

 

TWO-PIECE BLANKS – Most have separate forends but were originally selected for use on straight grip, side by side doubles with a splinter forend cut from the buttstock blank and good grain flow in the head and wrist area. Separate forends are rarely an exact match.

3 – $400 – (19-1/2 x 2-3/8) – Nice contrast.
4 – $500 – (20 x 2-1/4) – Good grain flow.

 

 

5 – $150 – (20-1/4 x 2-1/4)
6 – $300 – (19-1/4 x 2-1/4) – Originally purchased for an over/under. Matching forend.

 

 

7 – $100 – (19-3/8 x 2-5/8) – Excellent quality wood but very one-sided.
8 – $100 – (21-1/4 x 2-1/8) – Myrtle blank and forend.
